Pencils of Poe, other poets shown in Roswell – December 09, 1999

Barry Etris’ 12 charcoal and pencil drawings of great American poets, including Edgar Allen Poe, comprise “The Twelve Poets Society” exhibit at the Allen Ashton Gallery, 395 D. Atlanta St., Roswell. An opening reception for the artist, who is also a renowned songwriter, will be held at the gallery Thursday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. Etris has stopped recording professionally to pursue visual art, but will perform at the reception. The event is open to the public, but reservations are required. Call the gallery at 770-518-7357. Etris’ drawings along with his acrylic paintings will be displayed until Jan. 10.
